About Bossco Auto 4x4 Accessories
Bosscoauto started with a pretty simple idea: good 4WD accessories shouldn't have to cost a fortune.
What began as a small family side hustle selling automotive accessories on eBay quietly ticked along for a few years. That changed when Joe started working in the business at 18 while studying for his business degree.
A passion for cars, 4WDs and modifying vehicles quickly turned that small family operation into something much bigger.
As Bossco grew, so did the way we approached our products.
More than just importing
Today, we're much more than an importer.
Whether a product is developed from the ground up by our team or sourced through one of our manufacturing partners, every product we import has had the Bossco touch.
That might mean changing dimensions, mounting points, materials, hardware, wiring, drainage, finishes or other design details to better suit Australian vehicles and the way they're used here.
We don't believe in simply finding an overseas product, putting it in a box and assuming it will work in Australia.
Australian-delivered vehicles can differ significantly from overseas-market versions. Right-hand drive versus left-hand drive is only part of it. Local trim levels, body configurations, factory accessories, sensors, safety systems and even the way Australians use their vehicles can all affect how well a product fits and performs.
So we take the time to make them suit our market.
Developed and tested on Australian vehicles
A growing part of our range is developed in-house using 3D scanning, CAD design and physical prototyping.
Wherever possible, we start with the actual Australian-delivered vehicle.
We scan it. We measure it. We design around it. We prototype the product, fit it, make changes and test it again.
And because we're 4WDers ourselves, testing doesn't stop in the workshop.
4WD products designed by 4WDers
A ute might be a work vehicle during the week, a family car after hours and a touring rig on the weekend. Our products need to make sense in the real world, not just look good in a catalogue.
We regularly use our products off-road and in real-world conditions to see how they perform where it actually matters. Corrugations, dirt roads, touring, worksites and everyday driving all expose things that can be missed when a product only exists on a computer screen or showroom floor.
It's one thing for something to fit.
It's another for it to work properly in Australia.
Still a family business
Bossco has come a long way from that small eBay store.
Today, our Prestons headquarters brings together product development, warehousing, customer service and a team of experienced fitment technicians under the one roof.
That matters to us.
The people helping develop our products are talking to the people fitting them. The people fitting them are hearing directly from customers. And when we find something that can be improved, that information comes straight back into the business.
We supply customers, workshops and businesses across Australia, but we're still a family business at heart.
We still care about value for money. We still get excited when a new 4WD or ute lands in Australia. And we're still constantly asking the same question:
How can we make this product better for the Australian customer?
That's what Bossco was built around, and it's what continues to drive us today.
